If you haven’t seen the latest episode of Game of Thrones (episode five: ‘The Door), stop reading NOW. For those that have, you’ll probably be aware of the, ahem, revealing scene in question. In the scene, a male actor idling backstage after performing a play clutches his penis
It’s so controversial Emilia Clarke (who plays Daenerys Targaryen on GoT) addressed it on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert yesterday. The actress was questioned about her fire-baiting topless scene in episode four, and admitted that she didn’t use a body double. It was “an empowered scene which wasn’t sexual,” she says.
“It was naked, but it was strong.” And as far as she was concerned, the penis scene was no biggie. “You know I did it, why can’t the boys do it?”
“I want to see Daenerys and her three dragons share the throne. Eat goat they’ve barbecued. And bring back all the pretty boys, get them to take their trousers down, and be like, “I’m now the queen of everything! I’d like close-ups of all the boys’ penises, please.”
